Before the Race
Do I have to support the listed charities?
We urge you to support our nominated charities as they provide the volunteer support and administration services which are essential to stage the race. However, you are free to support your own charity if you wish, but please do not collect sponsorship within the start/finish area at the Don Valley Stadium
How can I find if my entry has been received?

I can no longer take part. Can I get a refund or transfer the entry?
Refunds are not granted in this race. You can transfer your entry (without charge) to another runner but it is essential that we receive full details (as per the entry form) of the new runner. No runner should wear a race number belonging to another runner as this could incur grave consequences in the event of a medical emergency.
Is there a time limit?
The time limit for the Half Marathon is 3 hours. If the sweep bus, travelling at the 3 hour rate, overtakes you, then you will be asked to board the bus to the finish. If you decline, then the roads will be re-opened to traffic, the marshalls will disperse, directions and drink stations will be dismantled and your race insurance will cease to provide cover.
What is the minimum age to take part?
The minimum for a half marathon (under U.K.A. laws) is 17.
The Fun Run is open to all ages, although very young children should be accompanied by an adult.
When will I receive my race number?
Your race pack, including race number, timing chip and Runner Information leaflet will be mailed to you in early April 2010. After April 13th race packs will have to be collected before the start. (See On the Day)
Where can I find accommodation?
Telephone 0871 7000 121 for help in securing accomodation. State that you are entering the Sheffield Half Marathon and they will try and locate you in a convienient area.
Where can I find advice on training?
Training advice is located in the 'Training' drop down menu.
Will late entries be accepted, including on the day?
Subject to availability late entries are accepted after the closing date (13th April) but there is a £3.00 surcharge. Race packs will not be mailed out but will have to be collected before the start at Don Valley Stadium either on Saturday 24th (3.00pm - 5.00pm) or Sunday 25th after 7.00am. (See "On the Day")
Raceday
Are there any toilets or showers?
There are numerous toilets at Don Valley Stadium both at the Concourse (car park) level and at the track level, inside the building. More toilets are on the far side of the track at the upper level.
Can I bring my own special drinks?
Special drinks are permitted and they must be deposited, before 8.30am on race day, opposite the start and finish gantry. They will then be transported to the drink station of your choice corresponding to the A B C D E letter on the route map. Please label all special drinks clearly.
Do I have to register on arrival?
If you have already received your race number & information pack then there is no need to register on the day. Late entries will have to report through door K at Don Valley Stadium to collect their packs.
How do I get to the start?
Direction by car and local public transport are given in full in your Race Information booklet and also will appear on this website under 'On the day'>Travel & Parking'
May I carry a drink bottle?
UKA rule 206(6) states: "No drinks may be carried or taken by a runner other than those provided by the Promoter". You could be prevented from receiving a prize if another competitor protests that you contravened this rule.
What if I exceed the 3 hour time limit?

What if I forget my timing chip?
You will have to re-enter under a new number, and the number plus timing chip will be provided for a fee of £5.00. Without the chip your time and position will not be recorded.
Where are the drink stations?
Drinks, sponging and first aid stations are shown on the route map which is accessed via the 'Information' menu.
Where can I store my kit?
There is a safe baggage indoor deposit area track level of the stadium. Your race pack contains a label with your race number to attach to your baggage to aid speedy collection.
Where do I get my tee shirt
Tee shirts will be given out in the area after the race finish line. Go to the desk marked with the size you require to claim it. (Do not forget as you will not be able to re-enter this area afterwards.)
Where is the car parking?
There will be adequate parking within easy reach of Don Valley Stadium. Full details are on this web site under 'On the day'>Travel & Parking' and given in the Runner Information booklet.
After the Race
Are prizes presented on the day?
The first 3 men and 3 women receive their prizes at a presentation at the finish at 11.00am on race day.
Prize winners for age categories and teams are displayed on the stadium scoreboard and winners should make their way to the prizes area at trackside in the middle of the finishing straight to collect them.

How can I get my photograph?
Watch this website after the race when you will be able to preview your race photograph and place an order for prints.
When do I receive my certificate?
We will attempt to mail out all certificates, together with pre-ordered results where appropriate, during the week following the race.
Where can I see the results?
Provisional results will be for sale sheet by sheet as the race progresses in the grandstand above the finish line. This website will endevour to publish full (provisional) results during Sunday afternoon April 25th. They will also appear at the website www.race-results.co.uk and be printed in the Sheffield Green 'Un newspaper on Saturday 3rd May with full report and pictures. Full printed results can also be ordered when you enter the race for a £1.00 charge.
